A leading U.S. engineering firm is seeking a senior‑level transmission line engineer to lead complex overhead transmission projects and mentor engineering teams. This role is heavily focused on structural design and offers strong compensation and long‑term growth.
Requirements- 8–12+ years of overhead transmission line design experience (69 kV+ required)
- PLS‑CADD experience required
- Experience with 500 kV+ projects strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (other engineering degrees considered)
- PE license preferred
- ~90% structural engineering (foundations, framing, materials)
- Experience with steel, wood, laminate, and composite structures
- Lattice tower experience is a plus
- EPC and/or utility services experience preferred
- Lead engineering execution for large or multi‑project transmission programs
- Prepare and review complex engineering deliverables and calculations
- Manage budgets, schedules, and quality across disciplines
- Lead and mentor engineering teams; provide PLS‑CADD training
- Serve as technical lead and responsible charge on projects
- Interface with clients and support pursuit/business development efforts
- U.S. investor‑owned utility transmission projects
- Strong understanding of PLS‑CADD, line routing, structural loading, and foundation design
- Experience coordinating with procurement, permitting, land, and construction teams
- Proposal support and engineering cost estimating experience

Compensation$150,000 – $200,000 per year
