Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter to join our engineering team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Solid Works 3D modeling and a solid understanding of mechanical design principles. This role involves creating and revising detailed mechanical designs, collaborating with engineers and project managers, and supporting the development of innovative solutions for industrial and manufacturing applications.

Responsibilities

+ Develop and modify 3D models and detailed drawings using Solid Works.

+ Collaborate with engineers to design mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.

+ Interpret technical specifications, sketches, and customer requirements.

+ Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.

+ Participate in design reviews and provide input on manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.

+ Maintain organized documentation and revision control of design files.

+ Support prototyping, testing, and production processes as needed.

Essential Skills

+ 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Drafter.

+ Proficiency in Solid Works 3D modeling and AutoCAD.

+ Experience in mechanical engineering and drafting.

+ Ability to create annotations and manufacturing notes.

+ Experience in manufacturing or a production environment.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+

Experience with new product development, CAD, weldment, and sheet metal.

+ Knowledge of BOM, FEA, and FEA analysis.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a mix of 10% machine-related designs and 90% product-related designs such as platforms and skids. All PPE will be provided. The schedule is flexible with core hours from 9am to 3pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr.
