We are seeking a dedicated Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will review and approve fire protection system designs and installations, inspect facilities to analyze safety risks, and support construction projects with life safety compliance. This role involves participating in on‑call rotation for emergency response, providing expert consultation on fire codes and standards, delivering training, and supporting audits of fire protection systems.

Additionally, you will analyze water supply capabilities to ensure fire suppression readiness.

• Inspect facilities and analyze safety risks.
• Support construction projects with life safety compliance.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for emergency response.
• Provide expert consultation on fire codes and standards.
• Deliver training and support audits of fire protection systems.
• Analyze water supply capabilities for fire suppression readiness.

• Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Protection Technology, or an engineering degree in a hard science (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, thermal) with some experience in fire protection engineering.
• Professional Engineer certification.
• Experience in fire protection and fire safety systems.
• Life safety knowledge.

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field with experience in fire safety systems.
• APS or RME‑G license with 15 years of design or installation experience.
• RME‑G is required to augment the position with the state of Texas.

This position is based on‑site with a small team of five employees. The workday is 8 hours, and a 9/80 schedule is available. The organization has been working with NASA for over 20 years and offers a supportive work environment. Employees are entitled to 11 holidays and 56 hours of sick leave. Assistance with obtaining a public trust is provided.

This is a Permanent position based out of Houston, TX.

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Houston, TX.
