This position is primarily responsible for managing the tracking and fulfilment of all contractual obligations under power purchase agreements between Enel's renewable generation projects and the offtakers.
What You'll Do at Enel North America:- Manage power purchase agreements, and other contract structures, between Enel and the offtakers.
- Read, understand, catalog, and interpret commitments under power purchase agreements. Monitor and track monthly, annual and ad hoc obligations to be fulfilled by Enel as well as the offtaker.
- Develop and maintain business processes and systems to measure performance towards obligations. Develop and implement plans for improvement as needed.
- Report on key obligations such as availability and production guarantees, financial security terms, scheduling and forecasting requirements under the PPAs as well as estimated damages, if applicable. This involves regular interaction and coordination with offtakers and a variety of groups within the organization.
- Manage and lead Operating Committee reporting and discussions as required under PPAs.
- Provide expert opinion in consultation with legal and other groups within the organization on contractual terms based on significant events at the plant or the company level.
- Lead the analysis, discussions, recommendation for resolution of disputes per dispute resolution contractual provisions (excluding monthly settlements/invoicing).
- Review and opine on contractual commitments on new contracts under negotiation.
- Develop programs to audit adherence and measure performance against contract management clauses.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the renewable energy industry and the North American power markets.
- Working understanding of energy commodity markets and regional power system operators (e.g. PJM, ERCOT, NYISO, SPP, MISO, ISO-NE, AESO, etc.)
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers, management, offtakers. Strong project management skills, relationship management and customer service skills.
- Ability to analyze contractual language and identify critical concepts, trends, and issues
- Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
- Demonstrates creativity and independent thought when solving problems
- Builds positive relationships with internal and external groups
- Will require full knowledge of functional responsibilities of all groups/individuals within the organization
- Ability to multi‑task, grasp complex issues, as well as pay strict attention to details
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent, Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 7-10 years' experience in power or commodity contract or asset management
