Travel: Up to 10–15%
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in fine mechanical design and complex machine systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working on sophisticated, high-complexity equipment, leading mechanical design efforts, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of five years of hands-on experience designing intricate mechanical assemblies and systems, with the leadership ability to drive projects from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to mechanical and industrial design efforts for complex machines, systems, and components.
- Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Solid Works, Fusion 360, and/or AutoCAD.
- Design high-precision mechanical components, custom fixtures, brackets, and cable harnesses.
- Work with complex mechanical architectures requiring fine tolerances and integrated subsystems.
- Support assembly, prototyping, testing, and system integration with a strong focus on manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, firmware, and systems engineering teams on mechanical integration, power distribution layouts, and data routing.
- Lead mechanical design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional partners.
- Travel up to 10–15% to support prototype builds, production ramp-up, supplier visits, and on-site integration efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience working with complex machines or intricate mechanical systems.
- Strong proficiency in CAD tools such as Solid Works, Fusion 360, and/or AutoCAD.
- Proven experience with fine mechanical design, tight tolerances, and complex assemblies.
- Experience designing fixtures, brackets, and cable harness solutions.
- Solid understanding of mechanical tolerancing, materials, fabrication methods, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience driving mechanical projects or leading design efforts.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred / Nice to Have:
- Experience with power and data wiring layout or low-voltage electrical integration.
- Exposure to prototyping environments, custom machinery, or small-to-mid scale manufacturing.
- Experience working in fast-paced product development or industrial equipment settings.
Additional Notes:
- Due to the complexity of the machines and systems, strong fine mechanical design experience is essential.
- The company strongly prefers a direct hire candidate but is open to long-term contract arrangements for the right fit.
