Sr. Mechanical Engineer

This position is responsible for product design through detail layouts to achieve a workable design or assembly for Wire Line, Multi‑Wire Drill (MWD) type instruments and related downhole tools. Perform detailed analysis, finite‑element analysis (FEA), and prototype build to verify performance. Incorporate the final design into upper assemblies and perform final qualification and testing. Lead other designers and technicians during the design and development phase of the project.

• Develop design concepts and conduct research of prior art and literature.
• Perform detailed mechanical layout of parts and assemblies using Auto‑CAD or Solid Works.
• Conduct analysis, testing, and evaluation of design approaches and provide drawings.
• Lead project designers to complete remaining detail design work.
• Complete product assembly, evaluation, and final testing.
• Conduct final design reviews, solicit manufacturing improvement suggestions, and ensure BOM, drawings, and procedures are in place.
• Conduct failure analysis and suggest improvements and design changes.

• Work with vendors to guide final testing.
• Follow all safety and health guidelines and 5S procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 12+ years of experience in mechanical design.
• Emphasis on Wire Line / MWD tools and machine design experience.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering a plus.
• Understanding of drafting standards Y14.5 and GD&T.
• Excellent technical and leadership skills.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical assemblies and repair.

• Strong communication skills—verbal and written.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and solid modeling skills.
• Knowledge of solid modeling and drafting software.

• Type on a computer for 8 hours a day.
• Use computer monitor, mouse, and keyboard for 8 hours per day.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to frequent changes.
