Overview

We design, build and service highly engineered products in fluid and motion control applications across five market sectors:

Role Overview

Field Service Engineer – Specializing in industrial automation systems. Responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining electro‑hydraulic control systems across global industrial sites.

Location: Houston (frequent travel across the U.S., with some international assignments)

Travel Commitment: Approx. 210 days/year, average assignments of 30 days per site.

Training: Up to 2–3 months of global training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform on‑site service activities: installation, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems.
  • Interpret electrical, hydraulic, and P&.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in PLC‑controlled electro‑hydraulic systems, control cabinets, and process loops.
  • Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks including Modbus and Ethernet.
  • Program and modify PLC and HMI systems, primarily Rockwell and Siemens platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure system integrity and performance.
  • Maintain detailed service reports and documentation.
  • Coordinate teams of technicians for electro‑hydraulic system maintenance.
  • Maintain daily customer communications to ensure timely assignment execution.
  • Track daily costs and billable hours.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to customers.
  • Ensure safe execution of activities, including lock‑out/tag‑out and Job Hazard Analysis.
Qualifications
  • Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline; bachelor’s degree preferred but extensive experience is acceptable.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic schematics, and P&.
  • Hands‑on experience with industrial hydraulic systems and communication protocols.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex control systems.
  • Proficient in PLC/HMI programming (Rockwell, Siemens).
  • Good stress management, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Physical & Safety Requirements
  • Fit to climb several flights of stairs, ladders, and work at heights.
  • Capable of lifting light tools and components.
  • Must comply with all safety standards and pass background checks and drug screening.
Additional Access & Compliance
  • Valid TWIC to access refinery and port facilities.
  • Valid passport for international travel.
  • Participation in ongoing random drug testing (oral swab, urinalysis, hair follicle) per refinery site requirements.
