- Assist in the development of new mechanical designs and provide support for released products, manufacturing, and field service across various projects, including UPS, Medium Voltage Drives, PAC, Low Voltage Drives, and DOE new technology initiatives.
- Interface with vendors and suppliers for product designs as well as focusing on profitability when designing and providing support to the plants.
- Focus on interfacing with the vendors and supplier
- Meet with vendors regarding new product design equipment and end-of-life part
- Source catalog components, EOL parts, support supplier for specialized parts
- Focus on interfacing with internal and external groups which may include visits with customers
- Be familiar with industry standards and apply industry standards to design work
- Focus on providing internal support to appropriate client groups.
- Focus on running projects concerning design of product line, initiate design review process for product line, develop and check other employee's drawings, maintain meeting minutes
- Create new product designs, modify existing products, prepare design documentation
- Focus on giving support to the plants and manufacturing groups.
- Design for cost savings and obtain material related to cost analysis and review cost analysis.
- Design to applicable safety standards
- Design product with high quality expectations that adhere to UL/ATL/ISO standards
- Support on collaboration projects with headquarters in Japan
- Gather data on market and competitors to run cost analysis regarding new technology
- Contribute or create intellectual knowledge that could progress into a patent
- Focus on performing analysis using software engineering tools
- Be familiar with technology trends
- Focus on profitability in all products
- Learn to cross-discipline train with different groups
- Participate with mentor groups in learning information
- Compose a self-starter attitude by taking initiative in projects that will improve the business
