Are you an experienced Structural Engineer ready to play a key role in complex, large‑scale nuclear facility projects? Our team is seeking a seasoned engineering professional who brings deep technical expertise, leadership capability, and a passion for designing critical infrastructure with the highest standards of safety and quality.
About the RoleAs a Senior Structural Engineer
, you will support engineering activities for a major nuclear plant project, working initially from our West Houston office. You will lead engineering tasks, perform high‑complexity calculations, oversee project deliverables, and mentor junior engineers—all while helping drive excellence in EPC project execution.
- Develop and review project estimates, schedules
, workforce plans, and progress reports. - Establish, track, and forecast material key quantities with detailed analysis.
- Create and review engineering specifications and design criteria.
- Support procurement
, permitting, and subcontracting activities. - Perform and validate complex structural engineering calculations and equipment specifications.
- Serve as a Supervising Lead
, guiding other engineers and providing mentorship, performance feedback, and technical oversight. - Make informed, independent recommendations to resolve engineering challenges of varying complexity.
- Contribute to project set‑up, control‑level scheduling, progress reporting, and project close‑out efforts.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, and project management.
- Apply practical field experience to support construction, troubleshooting, and design improvements.
- 16+ years of related engineering experience.
- Strong ability to communicate with management, clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
- Advanced technical knowledge relevant to structural engineering in an EPC environment.
- Ability to interpret and apply local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a time‑conscious, time‑effective manner.
- Intermediate proficiency with standard business software:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email systems, etc. - Practical field experience in construction or commissioning environments.
- Advanced familiarity with discipline codes and standards
, material specifications, and cost considerations. - Experience with effort‑hour estimating
, staff forecasting, and managing/leading large engineering projects
.
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration
. - Membership in a related technical society (ASCE, ACI, etc.).
