Electronics Technician, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer
Our client is hiring Junior Electro-Mechanical Engineers to support hands‑on assembly, integration, and testing of mechanically and electrically complex tools and systems within a Technology R&D environment. This is a highly practical, build‑and‑troubleshoot focused role. You will work across the full build lifecycle — from soldering and wiring through large mechanical assemblies — and support functional and environmental testing. Success in this role requires a balanced mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong problem‑solving ability, and a self‑starter mindset.
This position is ideal for early‑career engineers and technicians who are resourceful, detail‑oriented, and motivated to solve problems independently.
Key Responsibilities- Perform electro‑mechanical assembly of complex tools, subassemblies, and integrated systems
- Solder wires and perform cable/harness and connector integration
- Assemble large, mechanically complex tools using standard shop equipment and hand tools
- Interpret basic drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures
- Conduct electrical and functional testing using benchtop equipment such as DMMs, DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, and DAQ systems
- Support thermal/oven and environmental testing, including setup, monitoring, and post‑test inspection
- Execute structured troubleshooting and fault isolation across mechanical and electrical components
- Document build steps, test results, and discrepancies clearly for engineering and QA teams
- Follow ESD, safety, and quality procedures
- Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to resolve technical issues
Skills & Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with electro‑mechanical assembly and integration (lab, shop, industrial, aviation, military, or similar environments)
- Ability to perform both mechanical and electrical assembly and troubleshooting
- Experience soldering wires and performing basic electrical rework
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience assembling complex equipment
- Proficiency using common test equipment (Digital Multimeter required; DC power supply preferred)
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work through issues independently
- Self‑starter mindset — resourceful and proactive rather than waiting for direction
- Ability to read and follow written procedures and work instructions
- Good documentation habits and attention to detail
- Military maintenance background (avionics, radar, communications, electronics, or similar systems)
- Experience with oscilloscope or DAQ systems
- Exposure to environmental or thermal testing
- Familiarity with QA and traceability practices (travelers, checklists, configuration control)
- Ability to read basic electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
