K is looking for an entry‑level technician. The technician will be responsible for the testing and maintenance of hardware, including but not limited to Extra Mobility Unit (EMU) suits and components, EVA tools, crew aids, ancillary equipment, and other subsystem equipment as required. Testing and maintenance will be for Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL) training or flight events. The technician will perform duties per documented procedures and work authorizing documents, assist engineering in fit checks for suited subjects, and interface daily with customers, other technicians, engineers, logistics, and bond room personnel.
Responsibilities- Maintenance, assembly, testing, repair, and processing of hardware to support events and deliverables; incorporate engineering changes and perform functional performance testing of EMU components, EVA hardware, and other assigned hardware.
- Assist engineering in locating and diagnosing anomalies, recommending corrective action through liaison.
- Read engineering drawings, schematics, equipment specifications, test procedures, and other documentation.
- Complete specified online and classroom training to maintain certifications required for job functions.
- Update job‑related databases daily.
- Adhere to quality and safety requirements.
- Operate a motor vehicle to transport hardware to events.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with technicians, leads, engineers, managers, other personnel, and customers.
- Pass a Class III Physical.
- Preferred experience with pressurized test equipment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to read and interpret Work Authorizing Documents (WADs) and mechanical design drawings.
- Capacity to work in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Associate’s degree plus applicable years directly related, Technical Degree or Military Technical School (skilled craft level five), or high school graduate plus applicable years of directly related work experience.
- 1‑4 years of related experience.
- Successful completion of a government background check required before employment.
Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance per eligibility requirements.
