Engineer, Senior Telecom

Caturus, LLC, is an integrated natural gas and LNG company focused on responsible sourcing of low-emission fuel to domestic and international markets. Commonwealth LNG is developing a 9.5 Mtpa liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal project located near Cameron, Louisiana and is looking for an Engineer, Senior Telecom to join our team. The position will play a key role in designing telecommunication systems and ensuring they meet the necessary specifications and standards.

This role will be located in Greater Houston, Texas and report to the Director, Engineering.

• Work with EPC contractor and TSI (Telecom System Integrator) during engineering, design and testing of different telecommunication systems.
• Provide technical insight for design of different telecommunication systems (security and process CCTV, ACS, WLAN, LAN, PAGA, UHF/VHF radios, Intrusion Detection System, Telephone and fiber optic network design.
• Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT of telecommunication systems.
• Work in multidisciplinary project environment and interact with other disciplines.
• Contribute to integration of facility telecommunication systems with corporate IT system.
• Configure tools to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of new and changed Telecommunication system infrastructure.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of Telecommunication system installation and maintenance work associated with the installation, including building, and configuring infrastructure components in virtualized environments.
• Complete and handle all stages of the life cycle for Telecommunication software/hardware and transmission media development of relatively simple communication systems, including investigation, analysis, specification, design, construction, testing, maintenance, upgrade, and migration, and assist with more complex systems.
• Define, document, and safely execute small-scale projects, or sub-projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues which might impact on the success of the project.

Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the position successfully.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, telecommunication technology, information technology, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or information systems required.

• 10 + years of experience in telecommunications design and construction or relevant work experience. LNG experience preferred.

• Experienced in design, implementation, and maintenance of different telecommunication systems.
• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity requirement and implementation as per ISA/IEC-62443.
• Experienced with interfacing of telecommunication systems with facility ICSS (Integrated Control and Safety System).
• Knowledge & application of NFPA 72 for implementation of safety annunciation system.
• Knowledge & application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and work within project deadlines, and adjust as priority changes occur.
• Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge & application of telecommunications industry association (TIA) standards.
• Telecommunications design experience in Oil and Gas industry.
• Knowledge in use of industry standard software (CAD, REVIT, Navisworks, Microsoft Suites) is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to efficiently summarize and prioritize information.
