HX5 is currently seeking a Structural Analyst to join the team with NASA at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Structural Analyst will:
* Structural Analyst to support structural analysis tasks across multiple NASA Divisions
* Use stress analysis experience to perform classical hand stress analysis, finite element stress analysis and fracture analysis.
* Be familiar with NASA standards for analysis, including Fracture Control
* Know and have experience with using NASGRO
* Be proficient in the use of finite element modeling techniques using FEMAP for finite element model development and NASTRAN for finite element solutions.
* Prepare structural analysis reports and work with other engineers to find resolutions to problems.
* Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience
* Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
* Must have familiarity with desktop software applications, MS Office is required.
* Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
* Experience using FEMAP Preferences
* Previous experience performing structural analysis on NASA spaceflight hardware Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position and offers a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off). Work Environment:
* Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
* Equipment and Machines - Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

* Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).

Position Requirements :
* Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
* Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
