General Information/Job Summary

We are in need of a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 10+ years of experience in civil engineering work for utilities, infrastructure, and/or substation design. At this position, you will be the lead civil engineer on one or more projects at any given time. The right candidate will have the skills to complete a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques, and analysis within the discipline while coordinating with other disciplines to complete projects.

• Experience as a Civil Engineer for projects in utilities, infrastructure, and/or substation design
• Experience completing grading and drainage design of green field facilities from a topographical survey
• Act as a discipline civil engineer for selected projects
• Interact with all engineering disciplines, engineering and construction project managers, and clients
• Provide input into the initial project schedule and support the regular maintenance of project schedules for all projects.
• Provide man hour and equipment estimates for project proposals as required
• Follow procedures and systems to maximize department efficiency
• Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and interface with people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency
• Self-motivated with skills to work well with others and the client

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and Licensed Professional Engineer in State of Texas
• At least 10 years’ experience in utilities and infrastructure
• Knowledge of substation design, grading and drainage design
• Proficient in RISA 3D, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Civil 3D
• Experienced in leading engineering team and working with Civil Design team

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting / standing at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to walk the property and laydown yards.
• Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.
