Piper Companies is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer - High Voltage Systems to join a cutting-edge energy technology team located onsite in Houston, TX. The ideal Senior Electrical Engineer - High Voltage Systems will lead the design, integration, and commissioning of high-voltage electrical systems for a novel power generation platform.

Responsibilities for the Senior Electrical Engineer - High Voltage Systems:

• Lead the design of high-voltage electrical systems including one-line diagrams, switch gear, transformers, and large industrial motors (138kV+).
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to integrate electrical systems into a flexible, clean baseload power generation platform.
• Be hands-on during commissioning phases, troubleshooting and optimizing high-voltage systems.
• Support grid interconnect studies and governor model development for transmission-level voltages (Ex: 156kV).

• 7+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in high-voltage power systems or industrial environments.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Proficiency in CAD tools for electrical schematics and modeling software such as ETAP or SKM Power Tools.
• Experience with high-power motors, VFDs, transformers, and control systems.
• Strong field experience in commissioning and troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NERC, and other relevant standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution;
  Master’s preferred.

• Salary Range: $180,000 – $200,000 annually plus stock and bonus depending on experience.
