Chemicals is looking to recruit an Operations Engineer to support the operation of a leading polymer and chemical manufacturer based in Bayport, Texas.
As an Operations Engineer, you will act as a key technical resource for operations personnel, providing engineering support, optimizing unit operations, and implementing cost-saving initiatives. You will also be responsible for process troubleshooting, production scheduling, and ensuring safe and efficient operations.
To be considered for this role, you must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Candidates with 0-3 years of experience in an engineering role will be considered, with preference given to those with experience in the petrochemical or refining industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise on the operation of two units, including plant utilities.
- Support production engineers by overseeing unit processes and ensuring product specifications are met.
- Work closely with Operations, Technical, and Quality teams to optimize production efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Assist in developing production schedules and managing product transitions.
- Establish and promote safety procedures and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Stay current with advancements in engineering and production technologies, sharing insights to enhance operations.
- Conduct training for operations personnel on best practices, process improvements, and safety protocols.
- Participate in procedure reviews, plant qualifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (other technical degrees may be considered based on experience).
- 0-3 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably in the polymers, chemical, petrochemical, or refining industry.
- Strong technical competence and process knowledge.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Willingness to work in a plant environment and adhere to safety requirements.
