Exxon Mobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

The Olefins Pyrolysis team at Exxon Mobil possesses decades of operational knowledge coupled with in-house proprietary furnace designs. Our team is on the leading edge of world-scale furnace design and working to solve some of the largest sustainability challenges. You will be part our global team that could require domestic and international travel for manufacturing sites or vendor visits in support of projects / new technology demonstrations.

We are looking for a highly-motivated chemical engineer that seeks to make an impact with us as we work to solve some of society’s most challenging problems. You will have to opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced process & mechanical design engineers, materials scientists, project managers, and many more.

What you will do
  • Drives improvement within Exxon Mobil operations through technical contribution and innovation
  • Maintains and builds organization's in-depth knowledge of steam cracking furnace technology
  • Uses experience and data to develop and improve proprietary steam cracking furnace technology
  • Participates with teams of technical professionals in resolving complex technical issues
  • Applies personnel and process safety principles within Exxon Mobil facilities
  • Assist operating sites with unit start-up, process troubleshooting and performance evaluations
About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • B.S. (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering (or similar) or higher from a ABET accredited university
  • Strong Chemical Engineering principles and analytical skills with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Fired Heater Industries
