Position: HSE Intern (Health, Safety & Environment)

Job Summary

The HSE Intern will support the Health, Safety & Environment department in daily activities aimed at promoting a safe and compliant workplace. This role involves assisting with inspections, documentation, safety training, incident reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will gain practical hands-on experience in safety management systems and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting workplace safety inspections and hazard assessments.
  • Help update and maintain HSE documentation, records, and reports.
  • Support the development and delivery of safety training materials (toolbox talks, presentations).
  • Participate in incident investigations by gathering information and preparing documentation.
  • Help ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations, standards, and internal policies.
  • Assist in promoting safety awareness programs and campaigns.
  • Monitor and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support environmental initiatives such as waste management, recycling, and sustainability programs.
  • Attend HSE meetings and document minutes, follow-up actions, and observations.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the HSE Manager or Safety Officer.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of HSE principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to team goals.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or similar HSE management systems.
  • Experience with safety reporting tools or audit software.
  • Previous internship or project work in HSE (optional).
