The offshore Gulf of America Well Site Coordinator (WSC) is the highest authority at the rig site for SLB Business Lines (SLB BLs) and third-party services contracted by SLB. The WSC is responsible for logistics coordination of materials, equipment, and personnel supplied by SLB and third parties to ensure efficient and timely drilling, completion, and rig move operations, exceeding client expectations.
The WSC aligns services at the rig site to support and provide operational recommendations to the client to improve project performance. Relationships
- The WSC reports directly to the Project Manager.
- The WSC reports to the Drilling Superintendent and/or Senior Well Engineer for operational issues and recommendations.
- The WSC maintains communication with client and rig contractor representatives.
- The WSC manages all SLB BLs and third-party activities.
- The WSC interacts with Well Engineers, client representatives, rig contractors, and other key personnel to plan and execute drilling operations, HSE, and logistics.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all logistics activities at the rig, ensuring quality, HSE compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Manage work permits related to SLB BLs and third parties, with final approval from the client.
- Ensure drilling activities follow the approved well program, communicating any changes to the Well Engineer and client representatives.
- Review and verify certification of materials and equipment from suppliers.
- Lead operational meetings, prepare daily reports, and coordinate 12-hour operations with client sign-off.
- Monitor mud losses and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
- Participate in daily operational and HSE meetings, review and approve activity certifications and documentation.
- Ensure operations comply with well integrity procedures and standards.
- Plan and control logistics, supervise delays, and distribute operational plans.
- Monitor performance and costs, evaluate results, and report on lessons learned and improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Experience in offshore Deepwater Drilling and Completions.
- 10+ years of experience in the Gulf of America.
- Familiarity with international clients.
- Excellent communication skills.
