Sr. Process Engineer - Oil & Gas Industry
Location: Houston, TX
Job Description: Design and develop processes for MOC or Brownfield projects in refinery and petrochemical facilities. Execute tasks from PreFEED/FEED/detail engineering to project delivery, coordinating with multiple disciplines and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities- Design and Development
- Design oil and gas facilities including production, liquids separation, flare, water processing, pump stations, VRUs, gas dehydration, pipelines, injection facilities, and gas processing plants.
- Develop detailed plans for new or existing facilities.
- Model complex pipeline systems.
- Performance Optimization
- Assess and improve facility performance to maximize production and minimize costs.
- Analyze data to identify process restrictions and implement efficiency measures.
- Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset.
- Compliance and Safety
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Apply industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, API, OSHA, and NACE.
- Project Management
- Lead projects to meet specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate engineering, construction, and design teams.
- Project management certifications are an asset.
- Collaborate with internal operations, superintendents, and construction personnel.
- Serve as liaison between internal and external project groups.
- Work with third‑party midstream partners to align objectives and schedules.
- Partner with external construction companies to manage costs.
- Must have experience in oil and gas or chemical refinery environments.
- Experience with process software:
Aspen Plus, HYSYS, PRO II, Flare Net, KORF, AFT, HTRI. - Knowledge of transient/dynamic simulation.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to review and guide junior engineers.
