Job Description & How to Apply Below

If you’re the kind of engineer who loves building systems from scratch, solving complex motion problems, and seeing your code bring heavy machinery to life — this one’s worth a look.

You’d be joining a small but growing Electrical & Controls team that handles everything from system architecture through commissioning. It’s technical, hands-on work with the freedom to innovate and the backing of a team that actually knows what they’re doing.

What you’ll be doing
  • Designing and programming PLC & HMI systems (mostly Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, some Siemens) for custom machinery and electro-hydraulic systems.
  • Working closely with electrical engineers on panel layouts, schematics, and I/O mapping, making sure what’s drawn on paper works in the real world.
  • Leading your own projects end-to-end, from concept through FAT, SAT, and commissioning (usually 10–20% travel).
  • Collaborating with mechanical and hydraulic engineers to bring entire motion systems together.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and helping shape the standards for how automation is delivered across the business.
What you’ll need
  • Solid experience with Rockwell / Allen-Bradley (Control Logix, Studio 5000, Factory Talk View).
  • A background in PLC/HMI programming and custom machinery or turnkey automation systems.
  • Comfort reading and reviewing electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong project ownership, communication, and an eye for quality.
  • U.S. work authorization (citizenship preferred for defense-related projects).

If you’ve also touched Siemens, motion control, or hydraulic systems, even better.

Why it’s worth your time
  • Employee-owned company – real long-term upside.
  • One-off, technically challenging projects – no production-line boredom here.
  • Massive engineering variety – mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, software all under one roof.
  • Visible impact – what you design literally moves ships, bridges, and cranes.
  • Growth – the division’s expanding fast, and you’ll have a voice in how it’s built.

If you’re an experienced automation engineer who wants more than just tweaking someone else’s code, this is your chance to design the systems from the ground up.
