Entry-Level Civil Engineer; Permitting & Coordination

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our Houston office. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional who is eager to learn and grow in the civil engineering field, particularly in permitting, regulatory coordination, and project management support.

The role involves:

• Coordinating with the City of Houston, Harris County, Fort Bend County, TXDOT, and other local agencies to secure necessary permits and approvals.
• Assisting with the preparation, submission, and tracking of permit applications for site development, utilities, driveways, drainage, and other civil-related work.
• Supporting the in-house drafting/design team by reviewing plans, ensuring accuracy, and addressing agency comments in a timely manner.
• Communicating with project managers, consultants, surveyors, and contractors to gather information and resolve issues related to project approvals.
• Maintaining organized documentation of permit applications, correspondence, and approval statuses.
• Gaining exposure to a wide variety of project types, including commercial developments, retail centers, residential subdivisions, utility work, and roadway improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field (required).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in dealing with city and county officials.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is a plus.
• A proactive learner with a strong interest in permitting, civil design, and project coordination.
