Position Summary

Tetra Tech's Geosynthetics Group offers a unique work environment that specializes in the installation of all geosynthetic materials across a variety of industries. We work on new and existing project sites in MSW landfills, gold mining, power plants, and chemical and industrial facilities. These projects are located coast to coast in the Continental U.S.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:

  • Familiar with general liner installation techniques and respective equipment.
  • Effectively communicate with direct reports, peers and clients.
  • Assist with the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies for projects.
  • Perform construction activities in a safe and proper manner.
  • Maneuver, cut, and fuse HDPE liner.
  • Work in trenched areas to connect, refit and adjust liner on landfills and project sites.
  • Operate general site vehicles and equipment, such as pickup trucks, and smaller equipment.
  • Oversee and maintain clean, and organized equipment and supplies.
  • Complete project related paperwork neatly, timely, and accurately.
  • Understand environmental and health & safety regulations and perform work in a competent manner.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • To drive for company business, you must maintain a safe driving record as defined by Tetra Tech's Vehicle Safety program. This offer of employment is contingent upon successful evaluation of a motor vehicle (MVR) check, if required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience on landfill or refuse collection.
  • Proficient in the use of the PC, specifically with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Physical Requirements
  • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis.
  • Walk long distances, up and down steep slopes, and varied outdoor terrain.
  • Climb, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors
  • Work in variable conditions including extreme (hot and cold) weather safely.
  • Work with and around heavy construction equipment and excavations on landfills, industrial sites, power plants, gold mines, and coal ash sites.
Additional Information
  • Candidate may be located in any project site in lower 48 States in which we conduct business –typically within 500 miles of our project sites and ability to travel for up to 7 months a time and stay in hotels rooming with a coworker continuously as needed and without interruption.
  • Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
