Position Description

Opportunity for a self-starter who enjoys working independently and being part of a valuable team that is fast-paced and streamlined to address business growth, daily business

Mash operations, and air compliance issues. Candidate will provide air quality compliance, permitting and technical support to Kinder Morgan’s Operations Support Group for liquids pipelines and terminals, operations, business development and engineering departments. Position may be filled at various levels depending on experience and job skills of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Complete and submit compliance and emissions reports in accordance with air permit requirements and state and federal regulations.
  • Complete permit applications and obtain permits for new or modified facilities.
  • Support and maintain day-to-day compliance for assigned area/facilities; responsibilities include but not limited to:
    • Review and monitor operating parameters to ensure compliance.
    • Respond to inquiries from state and federal agencies.
    • Review and analyze results of emissions testing.
    • Track and interpret air quality regulations and advise management on future potential and likely concerns and issues.
    • Interact directly with federal, state, and local officials, as required.
    • Provide 24/7 support to Company’s emergency response and reporting requirements.
    • Represent the company on industry committees pertaining to air quality, as needed.
    • Other daily, weekly and monthly duties along with special projects, as assigned.
    • Maintain a high  for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with operations, engineering, and business development management and staff.
    • Proactively plan, organize and oversee assigned responsibilities.
    • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of job performance.
    • Monitor schedules, budgets and evaluate the work of third party air contractors.
    • Travel as required; anticipated travel will be up to 30% of time away from the office; motor vehicle and air travel anticipated.
    • Carry a company-provided cell phone and respond during working hours and non-working hours as required.

Position may be filled at various levels depending on experience and job skills of the successful candidate.

Position Requirements Education Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, natural science or closely related field is required.

Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of air quality experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and submitting compliance and emission reports, air permit applications and other environmental compliance requirements/documentation.
  • Expertise analyzing and interpreting air regulations.
  • Working knowledge of the Clean Air Act, state/local/tribal air quality regulations, Title V compliance requirements, source emission calculations using EPA or industry standard procedures, air pollution control technologies, and dispersion I've modeling.
  • Working knowledge of Greenhouse Gas regulations.
  • Proficient in using standard spreadsheet, word processing, and database software, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to interact across multiple business units, including, but not limited to: other employees, all levels of management, vendors, agencies, and customers with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience providing training to field/operations and interacting directly with federal, state, or local officials.
  • Perform multiple tasks with competing deadlines, successfully.
  • Able to work efficiently in a team environment while also being able to work autonomously, as needed, to successfully perform the required and expected duties with minimal direct supervision.
