We are seeking a Proposals Specialist to support a growing engineering and marine-focused organization. This role is responsible for developing high-quality, technically accurate proposals in collaboration with engineering and business development teams.

The ideal candidate understands technical scope
, can assess whether estimates align with project realities, and is confident enough to challenge assumptions when costs or deliverables don’t make sense. This is a writing- and judgment-focused role—not project management and not engineering design.

• Prepare, write, and coordinate customer proposals for engineering and marine/offshore projects
• Review and interpret technical scopes of work and client requirements
• Collaborate with engineering teams to validate scope, pricing, and assumptions
• Identify inconsistencies in scope or cost and push for clarification or correction
• Translate technical input into clear, client-facing proposal language
• Manage proposal schedules and deliverables independently
• Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal tools, templates, and processes

• 4–8 years of experience in proposals, estimating support, or technical commercial roles
• Prior experience working in an engineering firm or technical services environment
• Strong understanding of how project scope impacts cost and effort
• Proven ability to question estimates and assumptions constructively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working with minimal oversight

• Marine, Offshore, Maritime, or Oceaneering experience
• Exposure to large infrastructure, platform, or industrial projects
• Experience in high-value or technically complex proposal environments
• Ability to work flexible hours during proposal deadlines

• Confident, professional, and LOSS collaborative
• Comfortable working closely with senior leadership
• Strong backbone with a team-oriented mindset
• Detail-oriented but able to see the "big picture"
• Able to balance assertiveness with diplomacy
