About the Role

Helix Earth is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team in Houston. This role is hands‑on and onsite, reporting directly to the Lead Electrical Engineer. You will be responsible for designing, building, and troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical systems for our HVAC retrofit technologies, including control panels, system circuitry, and harness assemblies.

About You

You are a hands‑on electrical engineer with strong experience in electro‑mechanical systems, electrical control design, and manufacturing support. You bring practical expertise in reading schematics and ladder diagrams, designing and building control panels, and working with circuit protection and control devices. پاتې pride in creating reliable, safe electrical systems that support rapid product development and manufacturing scale‑up.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build electrical control panels for HVAC systems and test equipment
  • Read, interpret, and create electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Design and fabricate wire harnesses and system circuitry for prototypes and production units
  • Select and integrate circuit breakers, overcurrent protection devices, contractors, relays, and other electromechanical components
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues in lab and field environments
  • Support manufacturing with design for manufacturability (DFM) and electrical assembly documentation
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, UL standards, and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and firmware engineers to integrate electrical systems
  • Maintain accurate documentation including BOMs, wiring diagrams, and test procedures
  • Support product testing, commissioning, and field installations as needed
Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in electro‑mechanical engineering
  • Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles
  • Proficiency in using CAD and other engineering software
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data‑acquisition equipment
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills strncpy
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with control panel design and fabrication
  • Familiarity with circuit breakers, overcurrent protection, contractors, and electromechanical devices
  • Experience designing wire harnesses and system circuitry
