Mechanical Designer / CAD Designer – Solid Works | Manufacturing | Houston, TX

We’re hiring a Mechanical Designer / CAD Designer to support a Mechanical Design Engineering team in a manufacturing and fabrication environment
. This role focuses on 3D modeling, mechanical drafting, and production‑ready drawings for fabricated and machined mechanical systems.

This is a hands‑on CAD design role
, not a Mechanical Engineer position.

• Create 3D models and mechanical drawings using Solid Works, AutoCAD, or Inventor
• Produce shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings
• Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), tolerances, materials, and BOMs
• Revise drawings through ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) and redlines
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Fabrication teams
• Support machining, welding, sheet metal, and assembly operations
• Maintain revision control, drawing standards, and part numbering

• 3+ years as a Mechanical Designer, CAD Designer, or Mechanical Drafter
• Strong experience with Solid Works (AutoCAD / Inventor also relevant)
• Background in manufacturing, fabrication, OEM, or industrial environments
• Experience with GD&T, mechanical drafting standards, and manufacturing drawings
• Exposure to sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, and structural assemblies

• Full‑time, permanent position (not contract)
