Base pay range: $97,000.00 – $ per year.

This full‑time, on‑site position is located in Houston, TX, for a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Generation. The candidate will perform engineering work during the initial planning and design phases of projects, focusing on electrical components and system design. Key tasks include one‑line documentation, load lists, engineering BOM, project hour estimates, and project execution. Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects is required.

• Develop, review, update, modify, and approve electrical design drawings and BOM to meet regulatory and safety guidelines.
• Liaise with clients and other engineers to ensure projects are completed to specifications and on time.
• Establish relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, and other professionals.
• Maintain and improve existing engineering processes and workflows.
• Participate in conferences, events, networking, and learning opportunities.
• Create cost estimates, schedules, and various other documents.
• Analyze existing processes and schedule meetings to discuss improvement initiatives.
• Conduct research, perform diagnostics, and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
• Design and build prototypes as part of the development process as required.
• Work in a cross‑functional project team environment as well as individually on assignments.
• Provide engineering support for manufacturing and service teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering;
  Master’s degree preferable.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Power Generation and Distribution equipment, electrical component and controls design, and troubleshooting, including medium and low voltage applications.
• Experience in the energy, power generation, or oil & gas sectors is an asset.
• PLC‑based controls design and SCADA programming experience.
• DC power system design (PV and/or battery storage), troubleshooting, and testing.
• 4‑20 mA current loop component and control system design and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, CAN bus, RS485 communication protocols.
• One‑line and three‑line schematic design documentation.
• Panel load calculations and schedule development.
• Subject‑matter‑expertise internally and with suppliers and customers.
• Defining electrical/controls requirements as part of system specifications.
• Support field and customers with troubleshooting using root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving.
• Assist Manufacturing in resolving issues and developing standard assembly methods.
• Design electrical systems with UL‑approved components and oversee UL system approval; CSA experience acceptable.
• Hazardous location electrical system and component design (Class/Div./Zone).
• Control enclosure selection, design/layout per applicable standard(s), or customer requirements.
• Cable design for application, including conductor sizing, connector selection, and equipment routing.
• Working knowledge of NEC, IEC, IEEE standards.
• Experience with IoT, networking, and cloud‑based solutions.
• Proficiency in principles of electricity and power systems.
• Knowledge of industry standards and electrical codes relevant to power generation and distribution.
• Problem‑solving skills and ability to innovate in energy efficiency and system optimization.
• AutoCAD experience for electrical schematics detailing design specifications.
• Experience as design checker/approver for electrical engineering designs and documentation.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
