Black & Veatch is offering an early‑career Water Resource Planning position focused on stormwater planning and design, asset management, water quality and integrated planning.

• Support hydrologic and hydraulic planning, modeling, and design of stormwater and wet weather improvements, including open channels, storm sewer systems, stormwater detention/retention facilities, dams, levees, and reservoirs.
• Support water supply planning that provides long-term resilient supplies and mitigates climate change, regulatory uncertainty, aging infrastructure, and population growth/demand changes.
• Support planning and design of green infrastructure, low impact development, and sustainable watershed measures, including structural BMPs.
• Support erosion and sediment control planning and design, including SWPPP development.
• Interface with innovative stormwater, water quality, and planning partners to leverage new technologies and approaches for the benefit of our clients.

• 2–5 years of water resources planning, stormwater design, dam safety, and/or condition assessment experience.
• Experience developing and executing water resource planning and design projects.
• Proficiency with virtual collaboration tools (MS Teams, Web Ex, Zoom).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ESRI ArcGIS or QGIS, AutoCAD, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, EPA/XP‑SWMM, Info Works, Storm Wise.
• Capable of conducting site reconnaissance and remote investigations.
• Experience with regulatory requirements and procedures (FEMA, USACE, EPA).
• Support client‑facing and business development efforts.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.

• Engineer‑in‑Training Certificate (or ability to acquire the same).
• CFM (preferred).
