Operations Manager, Electrical Engineering, Energy Management/ Efficiency
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Director to lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities for our Land and Power team, with a strong emphasis on substation infrastructure, EPC projects, and behind-the-meter power generation. This role will ensure cost-effective, timely, and compliant procurement of goods and services critical to our power delivery and land development initiatives.
Responsibilities:Strategic Procurement Leadership:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for substation equipment, transmission infrastructure, EPC contracts, and distributed energy resources (DER) behind the meter.
- Drive supplier negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Vendor & Contract Management:
- Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers specializing in substation systems, EPC services, and on-site generation technologies (solar, battery storage, CHP).
- Oversee contract drafting, compliance, and risk mitigation for high-value agreements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with engineering, project management, and land acquisition teams to align procurement plans with project timelines.
- Support budgeting and forecasting for procurement spend.
Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Monitor market trends and supply chain risks in the energy sector.
- Performance Optimization:
- Implement KPIs for supplier performance and procurement efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years in energy infrastructure, EPC projects, or substation projects.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Strong knowledge of power systems, substations, EPC delivery models, and behind-the0beter generation technologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in the energy sector.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
- Understanding of renewable energy projects, distribution generation, and grid integration.
- Ability to manage complex, multi-million-dollar procurement portfolios.
