Key Responsibilities- Lead compliance initiatives for electrical products intended for hazardous and industrial environments, ensuring adherence to global and domestic certification requirements.
- Act as the main liaison with external certification agencies and testing laboratories for product approvals, including coordination of testing protocols and documentation.
- Interpret and apply standards such as UL, IECEx, ATEX, and IEC
60079 to support the certification of both new and legacy product lines. - Conduct internal and external audits across manufacturing processes, ensuring regulatory alignment with ISO 9001 and related quality management systems.
- Develop technical documentation and certification packages, including test reports, risk assessments, quality plans, and specifications.
- Monitor and assess regulatory changes that may impact product compliance, advising internal teams on required adjustments.
- Investigate non-conformances and lead corrective action plans related to product safety and compliance gaps.
- Collaborate with product design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to embed compliance requirements into development cycles.
- Maintain meticulous records for audits, renewals, and agency communications.
- Provide internal training and guidance to stakeholders on compliance requirements and best practices.
- Oversee RoHS & REACH compliance initiatives, driving project milestones and reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all certification and regulatory inquiries across the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of professional experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, or quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise with hazardous location product certifications (e.g., UL, ATEX, IECEx).
- Familiarity with certification bodies such as UL, Intertek, CSA, or FM Global.
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems and audit practices (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Strong technical documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Hands‑on experience working cross‑functionally in production or engineering teams.
- Knowledge of global compliance frameworks and international regulatory landscapes.
- Working knowledge of RoHS, REACH, and sustainability‑focused directives.
- Familiarity with electrical connector systems and their related standards.
- Prior experience conducting or preparing for internal quality audits.
- Strong foundation in risk assessment, testing, and failure analysis techniques.
Physical Requirements
- This position is based on‑site in a manufacturing setting, with occasional travel to partner testing labs or audit sites.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- This role requires eligibility for U.S. security clearance if necessary.
