The Technical Quality Project Engineer is responsible for end-to-end rework program management, including detailed rework planning, materials forecasting and coordination, schedule alignment, and comprehensive tracking of all rework project deliverables to ensure timely and compliant execution. The position serves as the primary point of contact and responsible lead for all engineering change (rework) projects to ensure high-quality and on-schedule execution. This role works cross-functionally with Field Service, Procurement, Quality, and third-party partners to support Sungrow’s PV service operations.
Responsibilities- Serve as the main point of contact and assume end-to‑end responsibility for engineering change (rework) projects, including planning, scheduling, dispatch coordination, and progress tracking.
- Provide technical support to both internal and external customers for engineering change projects.
- Communicate professionally via phone, email or meeting with customers or site PoC on escalated cases for engineering change projects.
- Provide overall engineer change status updates to management, HQ, internal teams and key customers.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Procurement, third‑party service partners, and Field Service teams to support operational needs and issue resolution.
- Track and follow‑up on quality issue from service vendors.
- Build, maintain, and track schedules and work plans for all engineering change and rework projects.
- Anticipate issues, elevate when needed, and resolve problems with minimal supervision.
- Work with finance team to verify unmatched vendor invoices and confirm alignment with the additional work hours provided onsite.
- Work well under pressure and demonstrate accountability for project deliverables and timelines.
- Manage multiple ongoing tasks and rework activities effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional departments to streamline workflows and improve operational processes.
- Adhere to company safety and security protocols, policies, and training requirements.
- Perform other duties assigned to support the company’s mission, values, and business goals.
- 3+ years of experience in PV industry, engineering roles, field service, or technical customer‑service environments.
- Bachelor’s degree, technical degree, or equivalent practical experience required.
- Experience in the solar/PV industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.
- Technical problem‑solving and analytical thinking with the ability to resolve onsite and operational challenges.
- Self‑starter with strong initiative, ownership, and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service mindset and effective decision‑making abilities.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong technical support orientation with a service‑driven attitude toward both customers and internal teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- PMP certified is a plus.
- Experience with Airtable is a plus.
- Strong time management, follow‑through, and organizational capabilities.

For candidates in the states of California, Colorado, New York and Washington, the anticipated annual base salary for this role is between $75,000 to $105,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The base salary offered is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to job‑related skills, qualifications, experience, education, location, or other factors related to the role.
