- Develop and maintain high‑fidelity thermal models using tools such as Thermal Desktop and SINDA/FLUINT.
- Perform steady‑state and transient thermal analyses for spacecraft components and integrated systems.
- Evaluate thermal performance under various mission phases, including launch, transit, lunar orbit, and quiescent modes.
- Support thermal verification activities, including test planning, data analysis, and model correlation.
- Collaborate with design teams to optimize thermal control strategies (e.g., pumps and valves, coolant loops, cold plates, heat exchangers, sublimators, radiators) and provide guidance on thermal considerations.
- Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and anomaly investigations.
- Document analysis results and present findings to internal stakeholders and NASA customers.
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2–5 years of experience in the field or a related area.
- Experience in the design, analysis, testing, certification, and operation of space ATCS systems and components, including pumps, valves, coolant loops, cold plates, heat exchangers, sublimators, radiators.
- Proven experience in thermal analysis and design for aerospace systems. Experience with Thermal Desktop or similar tools is highly desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
- BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of two (2) years of direct engineering experience.
- Familiarity with JSC organizations, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
- Familiarity with the Engineering Life Cycle process.
