Seeking a candidate who can provide engineering inspection and documentation of construction work performed by contractors. Responsibilities include monitoring project construction compliance with plans, specifications, contract provisions, and state and local regulations.

• Assist with construction field work tasks and activities on a project to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and other contract documents; coordinate and schedule quality control inspections.
• Observe on-site material testing, coordinate testing and monitoring services; perform mathematical calculations for material quantity payments and basic shop drawing review.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, identify discrepancies or conflicts, and review contractor’s daily construction reports for accuracy and consistency.
• Document project progress using video and photo, prepare reports, and consult with Resident Engineers on construction problems while recommending solutions and acting as a liaison with the engineer of record.
• Maintain knowledge of industry technology and tools (e.g., GPS/Rovers) to increase efficiency and accuracy of inspection tasks.
• Perform office engineer work as needed, including preparing meeting agendas and minutes, processing and maintaining tracking logs for RFIs, submittals, pay estimates, and other deliverables.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Engineer's in Training (EIT) preferred.
• Previous experience on TxDOT projects and/or using Site Manager.
• Bi‑lingual (English and Spanish) preferred.

• Ability to identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents and use inspection checklists to evaluate quality of work.
• Skills to write daily inspection reports, track work performed, and compute pay-item quantities at a basic level under guidance.
• Basic shop drawing review and understanding of contractors’ CPM schedules.
