Qualifications and Education Requirements- Minimum of BS degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of design engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to acquire a PE registration in Texas and Arizona (preferred) within 1 year or ability to obtain via reciprocity if already a registered PE
NCS Engineers has added a position for an Electrical Engineer with experience in water and wastewater electrical, instrumentation and controls design to join us as an Electrical and I&C Engineer - Project Lead in our NCS-Electrical department. The candidate will work on power distribution, motor control and process control designs for water and wastewater plant projects ions.
Qualifications/Skills Requirements- Solid, proven design experience in the development of single line diagrams, P&IDs, control schematics, connection diagrams, plan drawings, and details for construction plan sets.
- Experience compiling, editing and delivering written construction specifications.
- Working knowledge of the NEC and NFPA 820.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including detailed report preparation.
- Excellent computer, math, and English skills.
- Ability to work independently on design projects.
- Ability to visit job sites and field identify equipment.
- Friendly with the ability to interact with various personalities.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree (or higher) in electrical engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in design engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering with a specific emphasis in the Water/Wastewater industry.
- I&C, and water/wastewater experience highly desirable
- Large horsepower motors and variable speed drives
- PID loop process control systems
- Potable and non-potable water, and chemical storage tank level controls
- Emergency and standby diesel, natural gas, or alternative energy power systems
- Electrical Utility Company Coordination for Service Upgrades
- Video surveillance and security systems
- Microsoft Project
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming
- Basic Power System Analysis Software - ETAP or SKM
- Lead team of designers and lower-level engineers in the development of design plans.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to develop electrical and I&C designs.
- Be responsive to client’s technical project needs and inform Electrical Department Manager and other department managers of critical information or decisions.
- Must be able to lift at least 15 lbs.
Must be able to travel occasionally to various job sites and traverse locations to obtain necessary data.
Position is eligible for full benefit package and performance bonus program.
