The Transportation Practice is hiring a Traffic Project Manager to support our Texas region.
Duties, Responsibilities & Other- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
- Prepare traffic engineering capacity analyses, assess safety implications, and identify intersection operational improvements.
- Design and prepare construction drawings for traffic projects, including signals and ITS.
- Apply principles and practices of traffic engineering; solve traffic and engineering problems and communicate clearly in high-quality technical writing.
- Demonstrate reliability, commitment to projects, initiative, and a desire to advance knowledge of traffic engineering principles.
- Effectively manage tasks and projects, including financial and administrative duties, and communicate directly with clients.
- Supervise staff.
- Experience with Synchro/Sim Traffic, PTV Vistro/Vissim, and/or HCS software is preferred.
- Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards.
- Experience with Microstation.
- Experience with intersection and roadway concept development. Georgia DOT experience is a plus.
- Experience preparing traffic impact studies.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (AEC Industry) with a minimum of 3 years of related professional experience, or 7 years of equivalent professional experience.
- Participation in continuing education and professional development programs.
- Experience in project management roles with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Technical knowledge in the specific project field.
- Proficiency with project management software and tools to develop and maintain project plans and documentation.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Negotiation skills to manage contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements.
- Understanding of accounting principles to manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
- Master’s Degree in a related field (AEC Industry).
- Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training and pass the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
- Pre-employment drug screening is required. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
