Job Summary

The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for the overall management and execution of assigned projects, including monitoring project schedules, work assignments, budgets, and manpower expenditures. The Project Manager is the primary interface with the client, contractors, client’s engineer, internal Engineering department, vendors, and internal technical service representatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Project Management covering all engineering phases from basic, detail, commissioning, and construction according to contractual requirements;
  • Ensure that the right product is developed and delivered to meet company’s quality standards and contract requirements;
  • Utilize project management methodologies, systems, and tools as defined by the company;
  • Lead Project Teams and facilitate communication among functional representatives;
  • Track project against its schedule, budget, and against phase review objectives, reporting status to management and customer on a regular basis and to executive staff as needed;
  • Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities;
  • Prepare periodic management and/or customer reports and presentations;
  • Approval and/or coordination of engineering project teams;
  • Prepare and conduct Project Kick-Off Meetings and Project Meetings;
  • Review and verify project estimates monthly;
  • Provide feedback regarding employee performance on a project team to the functional manager for documentation;
  • Recommend new processes where needed to improve quality or on-time delivery.
Qualifications (Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil or Chemical), Engineering Technology or closely related field;
  • Ten (10) years of experience in the engineering field of the Oil & Gas or closely related industry in a same or similar role;
  • Demonstrated, proven skills in the specific areas such as process and/or mechanical design and engineering;
  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office software;
  • Knowledge of database project control systems (cost control & scheduling tools) is preferred;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Analytical and problem-solver;
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines;
  • Attention to detail.
Working Conditions
  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment (private or semi-private office) but also requires occasional travel to off-site work locations;
  • Field duties require outdoor work in a construction site type atmosphere;
  • Interaction with other team members, supervisors, and client personnel;
  • Working on a construction site or in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels;
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection;
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes;
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry five (5) pounds;
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permit effective communication;
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation that permit analysis and investigations;
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to perform routine office duties;
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
