Overview
The role at hand demands a seasoned engineering professional to take the helm, orchestrating all aspects of engineering responsibilities and project management within the realm of drainage modeling, planning, and design. The canvas spans public, private, and municipal utility district projects, and the right candidate will play a pivotal role in crafting engineering excellence.
Responsibilities Crafting Proposals with Flair- Skillfully prepare proposals, budgets, and client agreements with finesse, showcasing a keen understanding of project intricacies.
- Lead and oversee the design and technical facets of team projects, exhibiting prowess in detailed engineering design, calculations, report writing, permitting, and dynamic client presentations.
- Artfully respond to client RFQs and solicitations, demonstrating a knack for articulating solutions with precision.
- Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials, and community leaders, blending technical expertise with interpersonal finesse.
- Attend monthly board meetings for municipal utility districts, adding a personal touch to professional engagements.
- Coordinate and monitor project tasks, budgets, and schedules, weaving together the threads of project success with strategic finesse.
- Take charge of the technical and professional development of project teams, nurturing talent for optimal performance.
- Participate in shaping company design and production standards, contributing to the foundation of industry excellence.
- Beyond project leadership, actively engage in professional associations and community organizations, contributing to Pape-Dawson's commitment to community partnerships.
- Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
- Possess a Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the State of Texas.
- Boast 15 or more years of experience managing substantial hydrology, hydraulics, and water resources projects from conception to completion.
- Carry 10 years of hands‑on experience in hydrology, hydraulics, with a focus on water resources engineering encompassing design and management.
- Showcase extensive knowledge of large channel modeling, analysis, and plan production.
- Exhibit master planning expertise in large urban watersheds, covering both open channel and storm drainage networks.
- Prove a talent for effective communication, both orally and in writing, transcending technical complexities for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrate a track record of developing and maintaining professional relationships with clients, municipal utility districts, public agency officials, and community leaders.
- Showcase a proven ability to lead a team of engineers and technical professionals with charisma and strategic acumen.
- Be actively involved in professional associations and civic organizations, contributing to the broader community.
- Adhere to a schedule, with the ability to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, orchestrating the workday with precision.
