Transmission Line Engineer

Overview

PTS Advance is looking for a Transmission Line Engineer to join an exciting full turnkey EPC with 50 years of specialization in medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure.

In this role the Transmission Line Engineer will utilize knowledge of systems ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV to design efficient and cost-effective transmission lines.

• Design and Engineering: Create cost-effective designs for high voltage transmission lines and perform engineering tasks independently.
• Project Management: Monitor project progress to ensure schedules, budgets, and customer expectations are met.
• Collaboration: Represent the Engineering department in inter-departmental and customer meetings, supporting Sales and engineering teams as needed.
• Process Improvement: Balance innovation with standardized work processes to improve efficiency.
• Leadership (for senior roles): Ensure project quality and timeline objectives are achieved.
• Travel: Occasionally travel for short-term project assignments.
• Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering
• 3 years of experience in transmission line design
• Ability to obtain a PE License within 1 year
• Knowledge and experience working with PLS-CADD
• Understanding of factors such as routing issues, structure determination, material takeoffs, conductor selection, and plan & profile development
• Knowledge of substation structures, foundations and site development issues
