Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector – Welding/Coating.
Pay and LocationBase pay range: $ - $ per year
Work location: Gibsonton, FL

RequirementsMust be a US citizen and pass a federal background review and drug screen.
Responsibilities- Observe, inspect, and provide reports on construction projects at federal facilities for compliance with plans and specifications in regard to workmanship, materials, installation, and construction methods.
- Perform construction welding inspections related to steel fabrication.
- Inspect fabrication shop practices including storage, handling, cutting, bending, machining, fit-up, surface prep, welding, bolting, erection and coatings.
- Perform coating inspections and testing of various coating systems and methods of application.
- Perform structural bolting inspections and testing of various bolting methods and installation.
- Provide recommendations to government personnel regarding contract plans and specifications for all phases of construction.
- Monitor contractor’s quality system and administer the three-phase inspection process.
- Provide surveillance at construction sites and assist owner in problem resolution.
- Deliver and review change orders; modify RFIs; and submittals.
- Monitor contractor’s schedule.
- Review and ensure QA and safety plans are adhered to by the contractor.
- Utilize Resident Management System (RMS).
- High school graduate with 5 years of experience in construction welding inspections and 2 years in coating inspections and structural bolting inspections.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector in conformance with AWS QC1 and a minimum of five years of experience in steel fabrication.
- Qualified NDT personnel certified to ASNT.
- Coating inspection experience with NACE Level I or higher, or SSPC Protective Coatings Inspector Level 1 or higher; minimum two years of experience in inspection and testing of coating systems.
- Structural bolting inspection experience; certified according to AASHTO G4.2 guidelines; formal training in structural bolting inspections and testing of bolting methods and installation preferred.
- Experience with the Three‑Phase QC/Inspection process.
- Preferred: EM 385‑1‑1 USACE Safety Manual.
