Senior Process Piping Designer
Location:
Mount Laurel, NJ (additional locations: Oradell, NJ; Atlanta, GA; Overland Park, KS; Seattle, WA; Boise/Hailey, ; Houston, TX)
We are a leading professional services firm focused on the world's energy transition. Join our Power Generation Team to design and deliver high‑quality process piping solutions.
Responsibilities- Develop process piping models, equipment arrangements, and field verification on established and construction sites.
- Apply standards, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing for design accuracy.
- Use 3‑D CAD software (AutoCAD, Micro Station, Hexagon CADWorx, Smart Plant) to create precise drawings.
- Provide design assistance and quality control on medium to large‑scale projects.
- Act as consultant on work progress, resolve design discrepancies, and oversee drafting support.
- Lead drafting and design support staff on technical assignments when required.
- Prepare multiple design iterations for engineering review.
- Maintain documentation of project progress, issues, and contract compliance.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technical professionals throughout project phases.
- Use analytical techniques to solve complex engineering problems and update existing designs.
- Coordinate with clients and contractors for drafting and design review meetings.
- Provide guidance and training to entry‑level drafting support staff.
- Keep current with latest drafting practices and industry standards.
- Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and responsible decision‑making regarding resources.
- Perform additional duties as required to meet business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or 7+ years of equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of design/drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or Micro Station.
- 3‑D modeling experience using Hexagon CADWorx or Smart Plant.
- Coordination model experience with Navisworks.
- Strong analytical mindset and sound judgment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self‑leadership, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s policies.
- Flexibility for schedules that may extend beyond a typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Master’s degree.
- Experience with P&IDs, orthographics, isometrics, general arrangements, and related drawings.
- Field experience at power plants or refineries.
- Smart
Plant3D administrative experience. - CADWorx administrative experience.

CompensationExpected Salary (all locations): $98,300 – $175,230.
