Manufacturing Process Engineer
Location: On-Site, Houston, TX
OpportunityOur client is a rapidly growing producer of precision metal components for high-stakes markets such as energy, aerospace, and heavy industrial equipment. They are investing heavily in modern equipment, lean principles, and top-tier engineering talent to keep pace with surging customer demand. As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be the technical bridge between customer requirements and shop‑floor execution, shaping how complex parts move from quote to finished shipment.

- Analyze customer RFQs, prepare data‑driven cost estimates, and recommend optimal production approaches.
- Create detailed routings that convert specifications into clear workflow steps for machining, forging, heat treat, and inspection teams.
- Collaborate with raw material, machining, quality, and logistics groups to keep orders on schedule and within tolerance.
- Develop and maintain AutoCAD (and 3‑D where applicable) drawings for parts, custom tooling, and fixtures.
- Interpret and apply industry codes and customer standards (ASTM, ASME, ISO, and others) to ensure audit‑ready quality.
- Provide real‑time troubleshooting and continuous‑improvement leadership in a high‑mix, fast‑moving shop environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering (or similar) plus proven experience in a discrete‑parts manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated success creating cost models and routings for low‑volume, high‑complexity components.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (or comparable CAD package) and familiarity with ERP/MRP routing tools.
- Working knowledge of metalworking processes such as forging, machining, heat treatment, and NDE.
- Solid grasp of quality systems, statistical methods, and relevant industry standards.
- Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to work on the production floor alongside operators and technicians.
