Asset Integrity Engineer – Certarus Ltd. – North America

SummaryThe Asset Integrity Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and compliant operation of Certarus’ 20+ gas compression/decompression facilities and mobile fleet of compressors and PRS’s across the US and Canada. This role focuses on the integrity management of pressure vessels, hoses, process piping (above and below ground), pipelines and structural equipment.
Schedule- Normal business hours, 25-30% travel within the US and Canada.
- Hybrid work environment – flexible remote and in‑person collaboration at corporate offices and field locations.
- Develop and implement asset integrity management programs for pressure equipment, piping and pipeline infrastructure in the US and Canada.
- Manage integrity assessments and inspection plans (visual, NDT, corrosion evaluation, structural integrity) on facility infrastructure, pressure vessels, process tubing, piping, hoses and pipelines per local and jurisdictional codes and regulations (e.g. ABSA, CSA, ASME, DOT/PHMSA).
- Maintain, digitize and centralize asset integrity documentation and inspection reports across the company; experience with Integrity Data Management Systems (IDMS).
- Oversee fitness‑for‑service evaluations and repair plans for damaged or degraded assets.
- Conduct risk‑based inspections and assessments to identify degradation mechanisms and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to ensure integrity‑related activities are addressed proactively.
- Provide technical support from an Asset Integrity standpoint during facility upgrades, retrofits, expansions and new builds.
- Participate in the documentation collection, submittal and attendance of regulatory audits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years in an asset integrity role in oil & gas, energy or industrial sectors; experience managing integrity programs across multiple facilities/regions is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of pressure vessel design, inspection and maintenance (ASME Section VIII, API 510).
- Knowledge of process piping and pipeline systems and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.8, CSA Z662, API 570).
- API certifications (e.g., API 510, API 570, API 653) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience with integrity data management systems (IDMS), strong understanding of inspection data and lifecycle management.
- Working knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in risk‑based inspection (RBI) methodologies and engineering assessments; HAZOP and risk assessment training considered an asset.
- Familiarity with engaging with regulatory bodies such as ABSA, TSSA, TC and US DOT/PHMSA.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; proven success in fast‑paced cultures.
- A self‑starter with relentless habits in line with Certarus’ core values.
- Valid driver’s license; ability and willingness to travel across North America.
