We are seeking a Cost Engineer to support a major energy client’s capital project portfolio in the Greater Houston area. This onsite role supports the Project Services function across cost management, procurement coordination, risk mitigation, and financial tracking from project inception through closeout. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of capital project experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, procurement, project controls, and finance teams.

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance/Accounting, or related field
- 3–8 years of relevant experience supporting capital projects
- Experience with ERP platforms (SAP, Polaris, etc.)
- Strong cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills
- Proficiency in procurement processes and contract negotiation
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to interface effectively with engineering, construction, suppliers, and executive management
- Self-motivated with strong decision-making skills
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting energy, petrochemical, or industrial capital projects
- Experience preparing bid tabs, performing bid leveling, and evaluating vendor/supplier pricing
- Experience conducting feasibility studies, value engineering, and life-cycle cost analysis
- Familiarity with CAPEX/OPEX structures and contract budget alignment
- Consult with project teams to understand project requirements and objectives
- Perform feasibility studies and support gate reviews and RFP development
- Assist with bid leveling and preparation of bid comparison summaries
- Collaborate with contracts and procurement to resolve contractual issues
- Support project managers in cost control, budgeting, and project documentation
- Track, monitor, and forecast project costs, quantities, and commitments
- Maintain organized records in the project documentation repository
- Identify scope changes and ensure scope management procedures are followed
- Coordinate CAPEX/OPEX cost alignment across project controls and finance teams
- Implement risk management, cost control, and value engineering practices
- Prepare detailed cost reports, budgets, cash-flow projections, and progress summaries
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
- Support claims, disputes, and contractual issue resolution
- Participate in continuous improvement of cost management processes
- Perform additional duties as assigned
