Youth Development, Summer Seasonal
Position Summary
The Student Ministries Summer Intern position is designed as an opportunity for college students to learn more about ministry in the local church, and youth ministry in particular. This role benefits Christ Presbyterian Church by having a college student who is a role model for our students, and helps them grow in their love of Christ, His Word, and His Church.
This role benefits the intern by providing mentorship, genuine leadership opportunities, and an opportunity to grow strengths and work on weaknesses. If a summer intern desires to go into vocational youth ministry, this role will equip them with excellent training. If the intern chooses to work in another field, this role will prepare them to be the best volunteer their future church will ever have and give them soft skills that will help them in any field.
In a lot of ways, this is more than your traditional “internship.” Summer interns will be very hands‑on helping to run the day‑to‑day tasks of ministry. You’ll be meeting with and discipling students. You’ll be teaching Bible studies. You’ll be the first to arrive for youth events, and the last to leave. You’ll be pushed into new situations that will stretch you.
You’ll even sleep in a bunk house full of smelly middle schoolers! It’s a tough job, but incredibly rewarding
