College Shortcuts is a company that offers busy parents the following services for their child:
Tutoring, Test Prep, Mentorship, and Admissions Application Assistance. We understand that the college application process can be overwhelming and stressful. Our mission is to help students achieve their educational goals by providing them with the tools and guidance they need to succeed.
This is a contract role for an Admissions Consultant. The Admissions Consultant will be responsible for guiding students through the college application process, including providing advice on college selection, essay writing, and interview preparation. The Admissions Consultant will work remotely and communicate with clients through email, phone, and virtual meetings. The Admissions Consultant will be responsible for managing their schedule and meeting deadlines.
We are also looking for mentors to help students build their resume through projects. We expect our hires to train up on their own using our materials and hit the ground running as we have many students signing up.
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Experience in college admissions counseling or a related field is preferred
- Experience reviewing and analyzing admissions applications and essays
- Knowledge of the college admissions process and application requirements
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to provide constructive feedback to students
- Experience in academic advising, test-prep tutoring, or mentoring is a plus
- Bachelor's degree at a top school is required (top 30)
- You are being brought on as an independent contractor for the role of College Admissions Mentor.
- You may be assigned to support students through one or both of our core programs:
- Application Fast Track (AFT) – focused on college admissions
- Mentorship Program – focused on long-term academic and career development – helping students with projects and research papers as well as tactical advising on academics and extracurriculars
- This is a part-time role with an expected workload of approximately 16–24 hours per month
- Hours may fluctuate based on student demand and seasonal enrollment
- You are expected to remain in the role for a minimum of 12 months from your first student pairing
You agree to:
- Respond to parent and student emails promptly (within 24 hours)
- CC Neha on all written communication with families
- Send written follow-up emails after every session
- Maintain a professional and empathetic tone with both students and families
- You are responsible for managing your own availability through Calendly or another designated tool
- You must remain reasonably available for student sessions during after‑school hours, evenings, or weekends (we are looking for (4pm CST - 11pm CST - Mon‑Thurs, and Sunday all day - you have to have a mix of these times available so that students can book with you)).
