New Student Orientation Leader (Gator Crew) play a key role in ensuring the success of orientation and new student transition programs. This position fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment for incoming students and their families while collaborating with campus partners and student leaders.

• Supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of orientation events and related programming
• Serves as a knowledgeable resource for incoming students, parents, and guests by providing information about the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) community
• Initiate and maintain effective communication with students and families participating in orientation
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, Gator Crew members, and UHD administration to ensure a seamless transition experience for new students
• Serve as a positive role model representing UHD with professionalism, both in person and through online platforms such as Zoom and social media
• Act as a liaison with campus partners during the planning and execution of orientation and transition programs
• Communicate critical orientation information and deadlines to incoming students via email, phone calls, and social media platforms
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and uphold appropriate professional boundaries
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Maintain a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average during time of application and time of employment
• Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the university
• Commit to attending all training and orientation program days
