Required:

Advanced reading certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, CERI, or equivalent) OR Master s degree in reading instruction. On-site position in Phoenix, AZ;
Tampa, FL;

Fort Worth, TX;
Houston, TX;
Plano, TX; or Dorado, Puerto Rico. Salary is $100,000 annually, paid weekly, with full health, dental, and vision benefits from day one. Relocation assistance provided.

Alpha School believes every child has the right to read at or above grade level and uses a 2-Hour Learning approach that combines AI-adaptive technology with expert teaching to accelerate reading progress. Your role: create and execute focused, short-duration reading workshops that produce measurable improvements in phonics, fluency, and comprehension for early elementary learners, and help scale this program to campuses nationwide.

This role focuses on data-informed teaching, technology partnership, and constructing a reading program that serves thousands of students effectively.

• Conduct focused, short-duration reading workshops that strengthen phonics, comprehension, and fluency abilities
• Create individualized motivational sessions leveraging gamified literacy benchmarks
• Review student performance data to refine teaching methods and identify actionable insights
• Partner with engineers to assess and improve AI literacy platforms based on real classroom outcomes
• Build scalable, AI-enhanced instructional content that helps early elementary students reach grade-level reading proficiency

• Conducting 90-minute lessons or adhering to traditional curriculum frameworks—students engage with academic subjects via AI-adaptive applications

• Bachelor s degree
• Master s degree in reading instruction OR advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, CERI, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience providing small-group reading interventions to K–2 students
• Capable of assessing reading levels, organizing student groups, and creating differentiated instruction independent of pre-written curricula
• Experienced with AI/adaptive learning tools and able to respond effectively to student behaviors within these platforms
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Able to work on-site at one of our campuses:

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
