The School of Engineering Medicine in collaboration with Texas A&M College of Engineering, Texas A&M School of Medicine and the state’s top-ranked Houston Methodist Hospital offer an innovative medical school program called EN ME
D. This program was established to transform healthcare through translational interdisciplinary research, the development of medical technologies, and the development and training of “ Physicianeers.” EN ME D delivers a revolutionary blended curriculum with focus on innovation and entrepreneurship where students receive a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Engineering degree in the same four years.
The Program Coordinator II provides advanced professional and specialized skills for planning, developing, implementing, and managing student development programs and activities, utilizing maximum campus and community resources and opportunities for the Student Affairs Office in the School of Engineering Medicine.

RequiredEducation and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four years of program coordination, program development, or closely related experience.
- Master’s degree in student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or closely related field.
- Experience with Navigate, CANVAS, and HOWDY learning management systems.
- Professional experience in higher education or medical setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Knowledge of TAMUS policies and procedures.
- Experience with academic advising.
- Experience coordinating a tutoring program.
Program Support
- Supports students in pre‑clerkship, including scheduling electives after Step 1.
- Supports students with scheduling in clerkship.
- Oversees academic success vouchers.
- Oversees the academic success tutoring program.
- Coordinates Elective and Residency Fairs.
- Assists with student‑initiated electives (SIEs).
- Prepares degree plans and graduation audits.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, professional development seminars, and other student‑support–related meetings.
- Conducts research for program planning.
- Assists students in their individual growth through observation, feedback, and application of student development theory.
- Serves as a role model, mentor, and source of support for a highly competitive academic program.
- Plans and executes activities to foster campus community.
- Performs student affairs–related duties as required.
Operational Support
- Prepares, organizes, updates, and maintains program records, files, manuals, and/or documentation.
- Assists in analyzing and summarizing programmatic data for review and assessment purposes.
- Creates original correspondence, reports, presentations, documents, and program materials.
- Provides basic program information to students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Monitors compliance with university and departmental policies and procedures.
- May assist in preparing budgets and fund allocation planning.
Delivers Student Success
- Assists in the planning and/or delivery of various department‑related advising, student success initiatives, and academic campaigns via Navigate.
