The Lycée International de Houston (LIH) was established in 2017 by passionate founders from diverse cultural backgrounds who recognized the need for a bilingual school in the Houston community. Their vision is to equip students with the skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly multicultural global society.

As the only accredited bilingual school in Houston serving students from 18 months through 12th grade, LIH offers a unique dual‑language immersion program in French and English. By combining the analytical rigor of the French Ministry of Education (AEFE) with the dynamic American curriculum, the school remains dedicated to academic excellence.

The Lycée International de Houston is accredited by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization, the French Ministry of Education, and the Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools (TAAPS). The school is also affiliated with the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE).

Position Overview

The Lycée International de Houston (LIH) Bilingual School is seeking an energetic, innovative, and forward‑thinking Computer Science / Technology Teacher for the  school year.

The ideal candidate will design dynamic and engaging lessons that prepare students for the technological challenges of the 21st century. At LIH, we value excellence, creativity, rigor, and kindness, and we strive to develop multilingual students who are academically strong and socially prepared to positively impact their communities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Education, or a related field
  • Experience teaching computer science and technology courses (K–12 experience preferred)
  • Experience and enthusiasm for working with children
  • Strong passion for technology and innovation
  • Excellent references highlighting instructional effectiveness and student engagement
  • Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Work authorization in the United States
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience with:
  • General technology instruction
  • Microsoft Office programs
  • Keyboarding and digital literacy
  • Graphic design basics
  • Scratch programming
  • Basic and AP Computer Programming
  • Experience supporting school technology infrastructure (e.g., Moodle, Schoology, PCEducator, First Class platforms)
  • Familiarity with 1:1 laptop or iPad programs
  • Certified Google Educator or Apple Certified Teacher (strong asset)
  • Knowledge of 21st‑century learning principles and instructional strategies
  • Ability to contribute beyond the classroom (robotics teams, computer clubs, coaching, extracurricular leadership)
  • International and/or independent school experience (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging computer science and technology lessons (Elementary through High School)
  • Teach robotics, coding, cyber safety, typing, and digital literacy
  • Demonstrate proficiency in coding platforms (e.g., Scratch) and programming languages (e.g., Python)
  • Develop curriculum‑aligned lesson plans using assessment‑driven instruction and differentiation
  • Foster creativity, innovation, and critical thinking in a student‑centered environment
  • Collaborate with faculty to implement interdisciplinary projects
  • Manage and utilize technology resources effectively
  • Participate in professional development to stay current with advancements in CS and Ed Tech
  • Engage actively in school events (Open Houses, parent meetings, field trips, fairs, exhibitions, festivals)
  • Fulfill weekly duties (carpool, recess, lunch supervision, after‑school support)
  • Attend faculty and cycle meetings
  • Monitor student academic progress and provide support for diverse learners

Working Conditions

Standing for long periods of time. Frequent stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing, relocating stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment. The level of mobility required depends upon the grade level of teaching assignments and requirements.
